Dr Linda  Hammersley-Fletcher

Biography

Linda has considerable experience within a variety of educational settings having experience in the role of a school teaching assistant, teacher, lecturer and manager through to more recently becoming a Reader at Manchester Metropolitan University. She joined MMU in September 2010 focussing on research and lecturing in the area of Educational Leadership and Management. Linda is a member of a number of national and international research bodies and also edited Management in Education, a British Educational Leadership, Management and Administration Society journal produced by SAGE from 2005 to 2016. Linda has a strong profile within the Leadership and Management field and has organised a number of subject related conferences that have included contributions from teachers, local policy-makers, educational Trusts and academics.

Linda's research activity focuses on issues related to how educational leadership can be reshaped to facilitate greater democratisation through educative projects designed to enrich and empower all staff. Linda is particularly interested in how research activity and constructive peer critique processes can contribute to broadening the horizons, confidence and enthusiasms of educators. Linda is a passionate educator and researcher for whom the development of enthusiastic educator/learners is an essential ingredient in building creativity and innovation.
